Susan Roston's Bio

My interest in fused glass began when I took a week long class at Snow Farm in Williamsburg, Massachusetts  13 years ago.   I had been working with stained glass but felt constrained by this medium.  Fused glass allowed me to experiment and express myself more freely.   After my class I set up a studio in my house where I experimented with different techniques.   I enhanced my learning by taking some workshops at Diablo Glass in Boston, and studying online tutorials and ebooks.

My work has been accepted in several juried shows including The American Craft Festival at Lincoln Center for the Performing arts,  Paradise City Arts Festival, Northampton, Great Barrington. Massachusetts Crafts Fair, Berkshire Craft Festival, ArtRider Rhinebeck, NY, the Boston Christmas Festival, Lexington Craft Fair, Massachusetts, Andover Crafts in the Park, Massachusetts, the Codman Estates, Lincoln, Massachusetts, Greeley Park, Nashua and Art in the Park, Keene.

My work has been shown at the Bunker Hill Community College; the Sharon Arts Center, Peterborough, NH; Jaffrey Civic Center, NH;  Dana Farber Cancer Institute; Gardner Museum, Gardner, Massachusetts.

I am a member of the NH League of Craftsmen, The Monadnock Area Artists, Gardner Area League of Artists, and I’m the former Vice President for the Monadnock Art/ Friends of Dublin Art Colony  Open Studio Tour.
